Brought to you by the QCWA Country Kitchens program, Hero the Veg is your chance to show us your favourite vegetables as the star ingredient in your recipes! Dust off one of your tried and true healthy favourites and let’s get cooking.

Upload a copy of your healthy vegetable-packed recipe and go into a draw* to WIN one of our weekly QCWA Country Kitchens prize packs of an apron, tea towel and cookbook. We’re giving one away each week.

What’s more, all entries go into the draw to WIN our major prize of a KitchenAid Food Processor and a copy of the QCWA In My Country Kitchen Cookbook! Now if that’s not enough to get you cooking up a storm, we don’t know what is.

Make sure you upload your healthy recipe using the entry form below to go into the draw to win! There’s no limit to the number of recipes you can submit, so let’s get cooking. For a bonus entry, remember to upload a photo of your culinary masterpiece as well!

Recipes should contain at least one serve of vegetables per portion. One serve of vegetables is approximately 75g or ½ cup of cooked vegetables or one cup of salad vegetables.

Hero the Veg Competition Terms & Conditions

  • The competition is promoted by the Queensland Country Women’s Association, ABN 22 621 683 521, 11 Cleveland Street, Stones Corner QLD 4120.
  • The competition starts on 27 May 2024 at 12:00am and closes on 7 July 2024 at 11.59pm.
  • The competition is open to all residents of Queensland, 18 years and over.
  • Employees of the Queensland Country Women’s Association and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  • A person who validly enters the competition is an “Entrant”.
  • An entry is deemed complete when an entrant:
    • Completes the Entry Form via the landing page on the Country Kitchens website at www.qcwacountrykitchens.com.au/hero-the-veg with their Hero the Veg recipe and the entrant’s contact details. Recipes should contain at least one serve* of vegetables per portion.
    • Additionally, if the entrant chooses to upload an image of their cooked recipe, this will be deemed as an additional entry into the prize draw.
  • Entrants can enter multiple times. Where any entrant does not complete the entry process, they will not be eligible to enter the competition for a chance to win the prize.
  • There are six (6) weekly prizes of a Queensland Country Women’s Association prize pack consisting of an apron, tea towel and cookbook valued at $40, and a grand prize of one (1) KitchenAid food processor and a copy of the QCWA In My Country Kitchen cookbook valued at $500.
  • Winners will be chosen by random selection by the Queensland Country Women’s Association on the following days:
    • Weekly prize draw dates and times;
      • Draw 1 – 3 June 2024 at 10.00am
      • Draw 2 – 10 June 2024 at 10.00am
      • Draw 3 – 17 June 2024 at 10.00am
      • Draw 4 – 24 June 2024 at 10.00am
      • Draw 5 – 1 July 2024 at 10.00am
      • Draw 6 – 8 July 2024 at 10.00am
    • Grand prize draw date and time;
      • 8 July 2024 at 10.00am
  • By entering this competition, you agree to these terms and conditions and provide the Queensland Country Women’s Association with permission to use your recipe, name, image and location in promotional activity associated with the competition.
  • Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to the Queensland Country Women’s Association.
  • Winners will be notified by email.
  • Winners will also be published on the QCWA Country Kitchens website and social media pages.
  • All entries become the property of the Queensland Country Women’s Association. The Queensland Country Women’s Association may publish the recipe and associated image on social media, websites and in print. They may also modify an entrant’s recipe before publishing if it does not fit the program’s nutritional criteria. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this Competition is governed by the Information Privacy Act 2009 (QLD).
