Facilitator Spotlight

Christine Stokan, Gootchie Branch

This month we would like to highlight Christine Stokan from QCWA Gootchie Branch in Burnett Division. Here are a few words from Christine about being a Country Kitchens facilitator:

I joined the Country Kitchens program as a facilitator twelve months ago. I was inspired to join the program after attending a Country Kitchens Hands on Nutrition Workshop. I was impressed by the recipes and strong teamwork that went into the activities to make the day a wonderful experience.
I believe that others should get involved in Country Kitchens because the program has a lot to offer
people with a range of cooking experience and knowledge. I also loves that the recipes are easy to follow and healthy and that the program fosters community by bringing people together and encouraging the sharing of ideas.

Christine is a key advocate for Country Kitchens in her community and has regularly shared taste testers and completed showcases at market and field days. As convenor, she has been working on increasing communication and collaboration across the division, resulting in increased engagement with the program.

If you or someone you know is keen to work with the QCWA Country Kitchens program, we are always
looking to increase our volunteer workforce. To learn all about what we do, please get in touch with the
