Facilitator Spotlight

Judy Tully, Mount Larcom Branch

Judy joined the Country Kitchens program five years ago. In addition to her role as a facilitator, she has held various positions within the QCWA, including Branch President, Branch Vice President, and previously, Capricornia Division Convenor.

When asked why she became involved with the Country Kitchens program, Judy shared: “I believe the 5 key messages are essential for everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I want to raise awareness about the importance of making healthy food choices in the community.” She added, “I enjoy cooking and preparing nutritious meals for my family, and I thrive in a team environment.”

Reflecting on her experience as a facilitator, Judy said, “I am comfortable speaking with people, but I especially enjoy working as part of a team.”

Judy has contributed to many Country Kitchens activities, such as organizing “Sit Less, Move More” community walks, leading community showcases, healthy catering, and promoting recipes at various events. At her branch, she regularly promotes the program’s 5 key messages, ensuring that Country Kitchens-approved food is featured at events, which are also shared on Facebook, receiving lots of positive feedback.

Beyond her culinary interests, Judy has a passion for music, sharing, “I enjoy all types of music, especially classical, musicals, and rock and roll.”

If you or someone you know is keen to work with the QCWA Country Kitchens program, we are always looking to increase our volunteer workforce. To learn all about what we do, please get in touch with the team on 0417 539 663, or head to our website.
